10-12 port KVM switch?
I have an application where I need to control between 10-11 different workstations using one keyboard/mouse. Each system has a dedicated monitor, so i won’t specifically need to be switching video sources — i just dont want 20 control peripherals. Can anyone recommend a 10 port KVM switch that they’ve actually used before? Doesn’t specifically need to be rack mountable, but it is a plus though.
Paragon makes good units. I’d recommend taking advantage of the VGA-switching capability, though, if for no other reason than to reduce power consumption.
Specifically, this is for a dedicated video wall with 11 displays, so power consumption was never a concern. These paragon KVM switches look a bit more ‘enterprise’ than this specific setup needs to be — I don’t need any real advanced functionality beyond just controlling multiple PCs. Is there a specific model I should look for?
That seems interesting, however i’m looking for a hardware solution as this will be for a dumbass enduser. Surely someone has a part number?
Is logmein.com or something out of the question? Its’ free and would get the job done
I’m not going to be supporting this at all, so i wont be using logmein at all –and money is not an object. I’m just looking for a switch that some wire monkeys could throw in, and not have to worry about configuring 10-11 pcs with logmein/synergy.
If anyone cares — I wound up going with … 128 bones instead of the ones suggested for $1000+. Thanks anyways
