Got a stupid question. My mom was given a computer but windows is password protected on it and the password given to her doesn’t work. Is there a way around it? I’ve tried loging in as admin but that password was changed and the guy doesn’t know what it is. Any ideas?

so it seems that my ntfs.sys on my boot disk is corrupted.
i’m running winxp.
searching google, everything seems to indicate that i need to figure out a way to boot from another disk, remove the ntfs.sys and run chkdsk on the corrupted disk.
