Building a PC next week

I’m about to pull the trigger and order this stuff.

Is it all compatible? Did I forget anything? How does it look?

ignore the iPod, buying my GF a toy too since I’m getting one
The E8500 is $100 less at newegg, and a fair amount on the ram too. I’m sure you can save some on the other parts as well.

. prices sound high on several things.

Personally, I would go change:
– PSU to a Corsair 620HX (PC Power & Cooling and SeaSonic are also good)
– Hard drive to the Seagate 7200.11 model
– Motherboard to an Intel P45 or X48 based Gigabyte, Intel, or Abit (unless you plan on going SLI)
– Big fan of eVGA for graphics card, but thats preference
– You don’t need the SATA cable kit
– You don’t need the Tool Kit (assuming you have a philips head screw driver)

.

Last time I needed an extra SATA cable (and molex to SATA power adapter) I went to a small local pc place and they gave them to me free.
updated list:

I agree with the mother board change after doing a comparison the P45 is a better board. Also thanks for the heads up on the PSU swapped that too.

How’s it look now? One last check before I order.
ugly case
good mobo
ipod
good psu
cpu & ram, I’d get it elsewhere or consider this combo:
* note that cpu doesn’t come with a cooler though. stock cooler sucks anyway, get an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro.
consider a Radeon 4850
Lite-on is fine
I’d get a Logitech keyboard and mouse
Vista 64 ftw
hdd is fine
check your local hardware store for tool kits. you can probably get a good one around $20
Thank for all the input, I appreciate it.

I just ordered it. I feel sick

Just dropped $1800 so I can spend more cash on games
