finding a laptop with a serial port

Any such thing under 600 mark? Dont really care about whats on it long as it has a serial port/printer port and XP professional… Dell has models that fit the catagorey but their little pricey imho
why not just get a usb to db9 adapter.

i had one to connect to switches and servers. works fine.
Tried it with my laptop it didnt work, Thanks though. It works on a laptop with said serial but not usb to db
Does it have to be a *new* laptop, or would buying a used one that runs XP Pro decently be an option? You might have better luck going that route…

Maybe an older T-series Lenovo/IBM?
The Dell Latitude D830 I’m working on has one, and it was bought in 2007.
I use an old Dell Inspiron with a p3 for terminal stuff… it boots Xubuntu and Windows XP, heh.
I found one used Yea didnt have to be new could be a POS for all I care just needed a serial port

Meh. For me, the USB->DB9 adapter is fine. I like the fact that I can just grab my Lenovo S10 and the cable and carry them into the datacenter as needed. Netbook portability for those situations > *.
