Having trouble connecting to limewire.
Originally I couldn’t connect to the internet at my house for more than 24 hours without having to reboot the modem. That problem mysteriously went away, but now my computer isn’t connecting to limewire correctly. In the last month it has successfully connected to limewire a total of 3 times. My guess is it has something to do with my firewall, but I am terrible at the whole computer thing. What is the best route for troubleshooting this problem?
P.s. I also reached the conclusion punching it continuely had no effect.
I’m sure some idiots will disagree, but there is zero legit use of limewire.

discussing peer-to-peer software is not against policy. the only reason to stop/lock any threads like this is for the legal liabilities to the forum for supporting illegal activities. until p2p services are deemed illegal by the government, you can discuss them without any repercussions, as long as you don’t say that you are doing something illegal with it. By the way, the US government also seems to disagreeing seeing that they are against Comcast throttling P2P traffic. If it was inherently illegal, they would be supporting Comcast.
p2p software has a very legit use, including a good way for bands to help distribute their music easier. i remember back in the day of Napster i had some Weezer music on my PC. the drummer for Jack’s Broken Heart wrote to me through the Napster software and told me that if i liked Weezer, that i’d like their music and recommended i download it. i did and he was right.
Anyway, just throwing the up without any justification is useless and tiresome. Write to the mods and leave it. You posting this garbage means nothing.
To Greenstar, Bittorrent seems to be the current way of sharing files. µTorrent was the client that I used a while back, though I don’t use any torrent stuff anymore. You should check online though to really understand it.

limewire
my girlfriend’s mom uses bearshare she wonders why she keeps getting spyware
as has been stated before get the fuck off limeware/bearshare/kazaa/what the fuck ever. no good will come of it.
Agreed. I really liked the original few versions of Napster for that reason. I would search for bands I liked and talk to the people who had several of them and get recommendations for bands I hadn’t heard of.
Personally, I hate torrents and any sort of p2p currently being used. I just use google…..
You’d be much better off not having limewire on your computer.

did you mean "i just use google for my song downloading" which is possible, cause i’m failing to see how google alone is going to get you the same content as torrents provide.
No, that is where I find everything I download.
BTW: Haven’t downloaded music is several years.
