.pdf file … print option disabled
One of our co-workers recently had an article published in an online magazine and we got a copy of the article from the publisher in .pdf format. For whatever reason, the print option is disabled. I guess they don’t want us printing the article.
Anyone know how to "undo" this?
They don’t want us printing it…from what I have been told.
Can always do a screenshot of the article and print it.
That’s a security setting that was set when the file was created…
Screenshot is your best bet if you really need to print it…
The troll is banned ATM.
Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat (not the reader, the real version) and change the permissions. Problem solved.

If they went through the trouble of setting permissions I really hope they secured them as well. Can try this but I doubt they were that stupid.

hahaha
missed that, thought it seemed a little quite here
any option to export it to anything else?
Same as removing restrictions. In the full version of Adobe Acrobat you can export to many file types, but if its restricted your sol. Again, unless they are really stupid this won’t help either. You can always try to crack their password and remove the restrictions.
Hmmm…its not looking good.
Tried Adobe … no go
I can try screenshots, but not sure of the quality. Thanks for the help anyway!
I have seen Adobe pdf cracks online but never tried any (not for the program, for files).
Actually, can’t Google open PDFs and disregard the security?

cliffs?
No idea. Ask the mods. All I know is I saw unusually cuntish comments in two subforums on the same day.
Several people complained and he was given a warning. He stopped being such a douche for a while. Didn’t notice he was banned.
You know, I’m really not sure why this isn’t locked. Not that I really care, but you’re blatantly trying to get around security – they’re simply trying to protect their published work.
I don’t think OS X’s preview enforces that limitation.
Have you tried opening it in Foxit Reader? You should install Foxit Reader anyway, it’s fast and light while Adobe Reader is a bloated piece of shite.
+1 for foxit reader, that is standard install on every computer i work on. opens in less than a second
+1 for thread lock. it isn’t even like you’re trying to skirt the issue. you’re going right ahead and saying you want to crack security which is against the forum policy.
Never caught this thread, or it wouldn’t had made it this long.
Sorry, attempts to bypass security for copyright reasons is illegal, and forbidden. The file was locked for a reason – if they wanted you to have edit access, it would have been given as such. Ask the publisher for an editable version.
