Proxy server for personal use.
So I am looking for some shared hosting purely for the ability to run it as a proxy, for private use only (protected by .HTACCESS, PW only known to me).
For HTTP, FTP and IRC type connections.
Is this type thing thing easy to come by, even for free? The IRC makes me think maybe not.
Also I’d like to be able to run an IRC server, but maybe that’s asking to much.
You want a shell account, not shared hosting.
You’ll want to get an IRCd shell if you want to host a server. Will most definitely not be free
