Wireless N speeds
So, I just bought a Linksys router (WRT160N) with wireless N. I’m noticing that my Dell laptop with the Intel 4965 wireless N adapter is only getting 54Mbps. Is there anything I can do to help increase that? I just upgraded my drivers to the latest version, but that’s not helping. I’m also running DD-WRT on the router.
Oh, my desktop with the Linksys network adapter is getting around 270Mbps.
I’ve read numerous problems with 4965 AGN cards not working with linksys N. Not sure on the answer.
hmm… yes, i’m using crappy WEP encryption, so i wonder if this is my issue. i’ll try turning it off. if it is a problem, maybe i’ll just hook my old router up as an access point just for my TiVO… either that or i’ll bit the bullet and buy a TiVo wireless adapter (my current one works at g speeds and all, but does not support WPA).
