xfx/evga nforce mobos overkill for htpc?
i’ve built computers before but this will be my first time building a htpc. i know it’s mostly just getting the noise level down and such, so i don’t think this would be an issue, but do those mobos seem a bit overkill for just something to watch tv and movies on?
i will be mating them with an ati 9800 all in wonder pro card. case size doesn’t matter since i’ll be throwing this in a mid-tower or maybe micro if it’ll fit all of my peripherals.
those mobos are actually ideal for htpcs
overkill would be those high-end gaming mobos with SLI/xFire, upgraded heatpipes, etc.

hmm good point…i guess i can’t go wrong with the price either. was doing some research and a lot of people have actually used the 610i (xfx) for their htpc setups.
its because of the onboard video
they are enough for tv and movies
a separate graphics card is just added noise and heat
